A preparation of different kinds – partially similar to mayonnaise – quite good and very popular in its yellow, thick consistency; used as a thickening addition and as dressing, varying from slightly salty to sour, grey and thin used only as seasoning. Salad sauce was given to rations in the quantity of 150 to 200 grams.
