Germ. Arbeit-Einsatz II. Department of the ghetto administration established December 1940, originally formed to provide authorities with contingent workers to build the Reichsautobahn (highway) from Frankfurt (Oder) to Poznań, then replaced the former Public Works Office and took over supervising the appropriate referral of workers to production divisions; later the Benefits Department (liquidated September 1942).

Furthermore, the Arbeits-Einsatz was made responsible for allocating physical laborers to labor divisions with the authority to deploy all workers and non-permanent employees of departments. On April 8, 1942, on the orders of the Gettoverwaltung, the Arbeits-Einsatz took over supervising the work of each individual in the ghetto, with the exception of full-time officials reporting to the Personnel Department (vide). On several instances throughout 1942, Arbeits-Einsatz assigned large numbers of officials laid off from their previous positions and officers of the so-called 'foodsupply' facilities to work in labor divisions. In the same year, following changes in the labor market, the bureau's activities gained significance with the development of departments that employed the entire population of the ghetto, resulting in the complete elimination of unemployment. All activities of the Arbeits-Einsatz were subject to constant monitoring by the Arbeitsamt-Litzmannstadt, and by the Gettoverwaltung beginning in April 1942. Initially, Bernard Fuchs was made the head of the bureau, then subsequently heads Fuchs, F.R. Andres, and Azriel Uryson. Beginning in April 1942, Kiwa Siennicki with M. Grosfeld as his deputy were authorized to allocate labor facilities. In March 1943, the authorities (Gettoverwaltung) ordered the Arbeits-Einsatz disbanded and made into an integral part of the Arbeitsamt-Getto. Offices of the department were for a short time located at 11 Lutomierska St., then later at 13 Lutomierska St.
