Every official and worker in the Ghetto had a right to one portion of soup daily. About mid-year 1943, bonus soups were introduced. Depending on the qualification of the department as per the Trade and Control Office, between two and six bonus soups were given out weekly.

Standard soups were served by presenting the “lunch card,” and “bonus” soups by presenting a coupon.

Zusatz (in the ghetto humor): female friend ("kochanka" - lover) of a dignitary (as his true attribute).
