After the so-called Jewish Post Office [(vide Poczta)] had been created, the head of the Council of Elders ordered the postmark stamper, used solely for internal mail traffic in the ghetto. Under no circumstances could it be used for marking stamps. However, soon a letter was found by the Gestapo outside the ghetto that had a stamp and mark of the ghetto Post Office. After a brief, inconclusive investigation, the Gestapo ordered the destruction of the postmark. For the second time, a postmark was created on the occasion of the Chairman's birthday on March 17, 1944. This postmark was used once, noteably on that very day.

Envelopes with the Chairman’s acknowledgements of birthday congratulations have impresses of the postmark with date (vide Poczta [Post Office]).
