An acquaintance in the ghetto who helps one to obtain regular benefits through a simplified process (for example, without waiting for one’s turn) or even extra relief grants. In the ghetto, such acquaintances are used all the time and on any issue; eventually, they become the basis of existence in the ghetto. Favors rendered for one’s acquaintance are usually expected to be reciprocated (vide Czapka za kapelusz [A Cap for a hat]).
