On December 21, 1939, the deportation of Jews from the Radogoszcz municipality was ordered. The deportation was to be carried out on the following day – that is, on December 22nd.
Due to the tragic conditions of all mass expulsions, the Jews of Radogoszcz appealed to Łódź for help. As a result of their request, Chairman Rumkowski appointed H. Neftalin, attorney at law, and L. Goldberg, who approached the head of the Radogoszcz municipality that evening (December 21st) and managed to persuade him to postpone the deportation until December 27th.
During these several days, the Radogoszcz Jews fled to Łódź on their own, and later some of them went even farther. The poorest of them received an allowance from the Social Welfare of the Jewish Community in Łódź.
