Prewar euphemism for “penis,” meaning a stupid, inexperienced man; in the ghetto became synonymous with silly, naive, and guileless Germans (an overall term for all re-settlers from the Old Reich, Austria, Luxembourg, and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) who were unable to communicate with old, local Jews and therefore often got angry without reason.
