Chairman Rumkowski long considered organizing a showcase of the ghetto’s entire production. Large-scale projects were prepared, but had to be postponed due to the events of September 1942 (szpera). Individual departments attempted to showcase their production by organizing exhibitions. Particularly successful was the effort made by the Waste Sorting and Recycling Plant, which organized a very interesting exhibition at 15 Sulzfelderstrasse (now Wojska Polskiego Street). Another exhibition was held by a group of textile manufacturers in the House of Culture at Schneidergasse (now Krawiecka Street). However, these projects were only temporary. The first permanent exhibition was arranged by the Carpentry Workshop at Zimmerstrasse. The old cinema building hosted a particularly interesting exhibition, wherein batch works and individual products were displayed. In nearly twenty stands, complete furnishings produced at the workshop were shown. In the space of a former gallery, products of other wood manufacturers were exhibited, particularly the Small Wooden Furnishings Workshop (Winograd [Ludwig] [(vide)], the Basargasse, now Bazarowa Street). In the foyer of the exhibition, the Carpentry Workshop presented tools they had fabricated. The exhibition turned out to be an excellent means of ghetto propaganda and was therefore shown to almost every visiting committee. The project of a larger, more extensive exposition in the old building of the Glove and Stocking Department at 32 Hanseatenstrasse (now Łagiewnicka Street) was started by the Central Bureau of Labor Divisions. Preparations are still in progress.
